Taxable Benefit Policy
To comply with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) legislation, a Taxable Benefit will be assessed for you and your guests’ participation at President’s Council. This Taxable Benefit will be charged to each qualifier’s commission account in the fourth quarter of 2025. You will be notified by email of the amounts processed.
The Taxable Benefit is calculated for qualifiers by assessing all non-business-related program costs, including airfare, at approximately 50%*. The Taxable Benefit is calculated for guests by assessing all non-business-related program costs, including airfare, at approximately 80%*. Those who qualify for Business Class air travel will incur an additional Taxable Benefit; more information can be found here. Historically, the Taxable Benefit amount falls between $3000-$4500 for qualifiers and between $3000-$4000 for guests. Please plan accordingly.

Guest Policy
The qualifier can bring only one guest to President’s Council. Guests must be 21 years of age or older to participate. Please note that the qualifier and invited guest will share a room at the host hotel. There will be an opportunity in the registration form to choose one or two beds for accommodation. Every effort will be made to accommodate requests but cannot be guaranteed.
Guest Attendance Guidelines:
- Non-Licensed Guests
- Licensed Guests & IG Wealth Management Advisors
If your guest is not a licensed team member, their attendance is limited to the General Session on May 27, evening events/group functions, and optional activities. The Business Session on May 28 and the Breakout Discussions on May 29 are designed exclusively for qualifiers and licensed guests.
If your guest is a licensed team member or an IG Wealth Management Advisor, they will have access to all events, including the Business Session on May 28 and the Breakout Discussions on May 29.
Declining President's Council
Should you decline to attend, please click here to let us know as soon as you can for planning purposes. Should you decline to attend President’s Council, you will be provided with a cash payout based on your Achievement Level at the time of qualification – December 31, 2024.
- Achievement Level 1 – 12 will be eligible for $3,600
- Achievement Level 13+ will be eligible for $4,500
This payout will be processed in June.
Note:
the payout is based on your Base Achievement Level as of December 31, 2024. It is not based on Earned Compensation Achievement Level which moves each cycle and only impacts compensation.Cancellation Policy
If you cancel after April 11, 2025, you will not be eligible for the cash payout. Additionally, you will not be assessed a Taxable Benefit amount.
Accommodation Policy
MCI will book your accommodations during program dates at The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach and confirm details with you. Should you wish to extend your stay at The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach, you can indicate this in your registration form and MCI will be in contact to assist with booking and invoicing for the extension. . The group rate, starting from $499 USD plus applicable taxes, will apply three days before and three days after the conference dates (subject to availability). Your request will be submitted to the hotel on an individual basis, and you will be notified once the room category, rate and date availability have been confirmed. Although MCI will do their absolute best to accommodate your request, please note that rooms are not held, and extensions are subject to availability. If you are extending at another property, you are responsible for making your own arrangements.
Flight Policy
MCI is available to book flights for you and your guest in making your travel arrangements to and from Miami, and with any extension arrangements should you wish to use their services. This priority service is included as a qualifier benefit. You can indicate on your registration form whether you will be booking your flights with MCI or booking your own.
If you choose to book air travel with MCI, they will reach out to you to assist with booking your flights. If you prefer to book your own travel, or use rewards points to book your own flight, you may do so.
If you choose to book your own flights, you are responsible to submit your itinerary to MCI and follow the reimbursement process:
- Field member: submit a copy of your flight invoice to the President’s Program mailbox. Your reimbursement will appear on your commission statement as a taxable item.
- RVP: submit your standard travel expense form including the flight amount for you and your guest (if applicable) or the max air allotment (whichever amount is lower) charging it to CC: 1000 / IO: 200507 / GL: C614041. Please send the expense report along with a copy of your flight receipt directly to Kyra Whale: kyra.whale@igmfinancial.com for cost centre approval.
Please register early for the best possible flight options. If you qualify for Business Class, please book as soon as possible, as seats are subject to availability and can sell out quickly.

Airport Transfer Policy
If you are traveling to President’s Council on group dates (May 26 and May 31), airport transfers between Miami International Airport and The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach will be provided for you and your guest. If you are travelling outside of the group dates, transfers will be your responsibility. If you have booked your own flights on group dates, please provide Megan Davies: presidentscouncil@wearemci.com with your itineraries to make the arrangements.
